This is how you recognize the lime tree

The lime tree is often specially planted along streets, avenues, in parks and even in meeting places. It is a popular source of shade and also an important source of nectar for insects. The tree can grow up to forty meters high and live several hundred years. The leaves of the summer linden are quite large, heart-shaped, green and hairy on both sides. The winter lime tree, on the other hand, has glabrous leaves that are more grey-green in colour. The flowers are yellowish-white, small and give off a sweet scent. The fruits of the tree are small, spherical and have the so-called bract.

The summer flowers and sometimes also the winter linden (Tilia grandifolia, Tilia cordata) are mainly used for naturopathic purposes. Linden flower is best known for its use in treating fevers, flu, and other colds. It is also used, among other things, against bladder infections, headaches and wounds that are difficult to heal. The areas of application of lime can be traced back to the way its ingredients work. Linden flowers contain essential oils, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, farfalle, glycosides and mucilages. Mucilage is said to have an effect on, among other things, sore throats and irritated mucous membranes.

Internal use of the medicinal plant of 2025
Linden flowers can also be made into a tincture both internally and externally by mixing the flowers with strong alcohol for several weeks.
